        School of Medical Imaging is one of first batch of Master’s degree authorizing units after the graduate system was reestablished in our country in 1978. It became a PhD degree authorizing unit in 1984. In the same year, our university established the first medical imaging undergraduate program in China which is one of the nation's "211 Project" key programs of our university.
        The school is selected the first national brand course in medical imaging and Professor Wu Enhui was chosen the national distinguished teacher. Currently, it is a unique specialty; it is also the secretariat of the National Institute of Higher Medical Education, Medical Imaging Education Association branch, and the teaching team of Tianjin municipal level. Accumulatively it has cultivated 83 PhD students, 222 Master’s students and more than 1100 undergraduates as well as 2 post-doctors.
        Prof. Yu Chunshui, is the Dean of this school. The school currently has 16 professors and chief physicians, 6 supervisors of PhD students, and 22 supervisors of master's students, among whom there are 4 experts gaining allowance rewarded by the State Council, 3 experts conferred by Tianjin Municipal government and 1 Excellent Talent of the New Century appointed by the Ministry of Education. The teaching team consists of members with at least Master’s degrees, among whom 45% hold Ph.D.
        The school has 8 basic laboratories including a Toshiba Medical Imaging Teaching Center and 3 Clinical Laboratories including imaging pathology lab. It also owns advanced medical imaging diagnostic facilities in this professional field such as superconducting NMR technology, multi-layer spiral CT, digital gastrointestinal technology, CR, DR, color ultrasound and PACS network for teaching purposes.
